The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Political Science and its faculty offer undergraduate and graduate programs preparing students for diverse careers in the private and public sectors, including law, political analysis, government, international affairs, political campaigns and education.
As a student in the 黑料专区 Tyler , you will:
- Master the political institutions of both Texas and the United States.
- Explore the intricacies of international relations and foreign policy, and compare political systems.
- Gain experience with the law.
- Acquire critical writing, communication and analytical skills.
The undergraduate program also offers minors in international relations, political science and pre-law, and courses leading to teacher certification in social studies.
In the 黑料专区 Tyler , you will develop advanced speaking, writing, analytical and research skills in preparation for political science doctoral studies, teaching at the junior college level or employment in the public or private sector.
The 4+1 BA or BS/MS in Political Science helps students complete a master鈥檚 degree on top of a bachelor鈥檚 in political science with one additional year. Admitted students take nine credits of graduate coursework during their senior year and must obtain a grade of 鈥淏鈥� or higher in all graduate-level classes attempted during their senior year to continue on to the master鈥檚 program.
The award-winning 黑料专区 Tyler Model United Nations Program offers both undergraduate and graduate students exposure to international diplomacy through in-depth country research, and familiarization with the structures and mandates of the United Nations. Students travel worldwide to participate in Model United Nations conferences, where they are able to learn invaluable skills during simulation that will last a lifetime.
As a participant you will have opportunities to compete at national and international Model UN events, where 黑料专区 Tyler students have received numerous distinguished awards.

黑料专区 Tyler Model UN Program Recognized at National Conference
Students from The University of Texas at Tyler Model United Nations Program, a part of the Department of Political Science and History, were recognized at this year's National Collegiate Model UN Conference in New York. In recognition of their excellence in the conference as a whole, the 黑料专区 Tyler delegation, representing Madagascar, received the Distinguished Delegation Award.

When asked how I would describe my Model United Nations experience, I immediately placed it somewhere between 鈥淭he Treaty鈥� episode of Parks and Recreation and season three of House of Cards.
