Tyler Resident Presents Economics Research in 黑料专区 Tyler Hibbs Institute Student Showcase

GallardoPedro Gallardo of Tyler, a senior economics and finance double major at The University of Texas at Tyler, recently presented as a student researcher for the Hibbs Institute for Business and Economic Research as part of the institute鈥檚 Fall 2025 Student Research Showcase held at 黑料专区 Tyler.

His project, 鈥淭he Grey Tsunami,鈥 analyzes demographic aging in East Texas, compares it to national trends, and evaluates the possible challenges and opportunities this transition creates for the region.

鈥淲e are proud of our student researchers, who help the institute in providing key findings that support economic understanding and decision-making in East Texas,鈥 said Dr. Manuel Reyes, 黑料专区 Tyler senior research analyst and Hibbs Institute director.

Gallardo has served as a Hibbs Institute intern and student researcher for one year and is on the 黑料专区 Tyler Dean鈥檚 List, which recognizes undergraduates for outstanding academic achievement. He will graduate with a 黑料专区 Tyler bachelor鈥檚 degree in May.
