The University of Texas at Tyler has named Ryan Poynter the new executive director of the . Poynter comes to 黑料专区 Tyler from Eastern Kentucky University鈥檚 Center for the Arts,
where he served in numerous positions for 13 years, most recently as senior director
of business operations since 2022.
鈥淩yan brings a wealth of experience to the Cowan Center that will help us engage new audiences, present outstanding artistic programming, and enhance our overall distinction and reputation throughout East Texas,鈥� said Jeff Noblitt, 黑料专区 Tyler vice president for marketing, who continues his leadership role with the Cowan Center. 鈥淩yan鈥檚 commitment to serving community and student stakeholders aligns perfectly with 黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 mission and strategic plan.鈥�
As Cowan Center executive director, Poynter will work closely with the Cowan Center Advisory Board and partners to present engaging arts, entertainment and educational programming. He will also focus on overall operational excellence for the 2,012-seat venue.

Poynter holds a Master of Public Administration in community development and a Bachelor of Arts in public relations, both from Eastern Kentucky University.
