Oscar Urieta, a high school biomedical science teacher at The University of Texas
at Tyler University Academy 鈥� Tyler, was named a 2024-25 Outstanding Teacher by Project
Lead The Way.
He is one of only 103 selected from nominations across the U.S. to earn the honor, which recognizes remarkable K-12 teachers across PLTW鈥檚 pathway programs in computer science, engineering and biomedical science.

Urieta joined University Academy in 2016. He serves as the high school University
Interscholastic
League Academics science coach on campus and was also part of the Texas Teacher Residency
Program at 黑料专区 Tyler.
