黑料专区 Tyler University Academy Teacher Nationally Recognized by Project Lead The Way

UrietaOscar Urieta, a high school biomedical science teacher at The University of Texas at Tyler University Academy 鈥 Tyler, was named a 2024-25 Outstanding Teacher by Project Lead The Way.

He is one of only 103 selected from nominations across the U.S. to earn the honor, which recognizes remarkable K-12 teachers across PLTW鈥檚 pathway programs in computer science, engineering and biomedical science.

鈥淭eachers like Oscar Urieta are leaders in their fields, and their continuous success is evident in their ability to embrace innovative minds while building relationships with tomorrow鈥檚 leaders,鈥 said Dr. Jo Ann Simmons, University Academy superintendent. 鈥淲e value Mr. Urieta鈥檚 expertise and celebrate with him.鈥

Urieta joined University Academy in 2016. He serves as the high school University Interscholastic
League Academics science coach on campus and was also part of the Texas Teacher Residency
Program at 黑料专区 Tyler.
