Engineering and nursing programs at The University of Texas at Tyler have advanced in the top 100 nationwide rankings, according to the 2025 U.S. News and World Report Best Colleges listing.
The engineering program ranks 62nd in the nation and is the third-best state undergraduate program that does not offer a doctorate in Texas. Nursing ranks 74th in the nation and is the sixth best state program in Texas.

This is the sixth consecutive year that the College of Engineering has been ranked in the top 100. It ranked 86th in the 2024 ranking. The college is the East Texas region鈥檚 only comprehensive engineering school, with nearly 1,100 students attending classes in Tyler and Houston. Those students have garnered top finishes in national contests such as the American Society of Civil Engineers concrete canoe and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers robotics competitions.
鈥淩eceiving this recognition from one of the nation鈥檚 most respected ranking organizations speaks to the quality of our current and emerging undergraduate programs and the dedication of our faculty and staff to student success,鈥 said Dr. Javier Kypuros, 黑料专区 Tyler College of Engineering dean.
The 黑料专区 Tyler School of Nursing was also ranked 86th in the 2024 listing. The School of Nursing provides students with the advanced skills they need in convenient formats to meet the growing demand for patient care and leadership in the health care industry. The school has continued to expand exponentially, and it recently opened a 47,000-square-foot expansion of its nursing facility to meet the enrollment demands of the growing program. Nearly 3,000 nursing students comprise 26% of the university鈥檚 enrollment.
