High School Students Awarded 黑料专区 Tyler Scholarships for Entrepreneurial Ideas

Two students at The University of Texas at Tyler University Academy Tyler campus won
the 2024 East Texas High School Idea Challenge, the region鈥檚 premier innovation competition
for high school students at 黑料专区 Tyler.
First-place winners Umama Khan and Olivia Hall, UA-Tyler seniors, each received a $5,000 黑料专区 Tyler scholarship. Their winning project, Vitaband, is an idea for a wristband that monitors patients鈥� key vitals and connects them to a health care professional. Kiley Salser, a sophomore from Pine Tree High School, placed second and received a $2,500 黑料专区 Tyler scholarship. Her business venture, Glistening Gardens, transforms lawns into flourishing gardens with expert planting, soil care and ongoing maintenance supplies.
Teams and individuals were judged based on project innovation, creativity and potential for real-world application.

The East Texas High School Idea Challenge is part of ETX New Venture Day at 黑料专区 Tyler. Registration for next year鈥檚 challenge will open in August, Reynolds added.
