Tyler Resident Recognized at State Transportation Engineers Meeting

Prashanta Kumar Acharjee of Tyler, a graduate civil engineering major at The University of Texas at Tyler, was recognized at the 2023 Texas District of Institute of Transportation Engineers Annual Meeting. An international student from Bangladesh, Acharjee received the TexITE Best Paper Award with a $1,000 cash prize for his research paper.

鈥淧avement Roughness Prediction Model for Texas with Artificial Neural Network (ANN)鈥 discusses a developed International Roughness Index prediction model to determine surface pavement conditions using the state鈥檚 climate and traffic data. Acharjee is now nominated for the national ITE Daniel Fambro Student Paper Award.

His faculty adviser is Dr. Mena Souliman, 黑料专区 Tyler associate professor of civil engineering.

Acharjee will graduate this summer with a 黑料专区 Tyler Master of Science in Civil Engineering. He plans to continue his education and work in transportation engineering.
