The University of Texas at Tyler announced that the 2023 BMW of Tyler Patriot Golf Classic raised $123,150 to benefit the university鈥檚 scholarship program.
鈥淚 am thankful to all the volunteers and players who make this a successful event each and every year,鈥� said 黑料专区 Tyler President Kirk A. Calhoun, MD, FACP. 鈥淲e also owe a huge debt of gratitude to our sponsors. Their support of our students is immensely appreciated, and we cannot thank them enough.鈥�
Since 1986, the Patriot Golf Classic has been one of the university鈥檚 largest annual fundraisers benefiting 黑料专区 Tyler student scholarships. Proceeds fund an endowment that now totals more than $2 million.
鈥淭his year鈥檚 tournament was a tremendous success as business leaders from around East Texas came together to bring awareness to 黑料专区 Tyler, while also providing much needed scholarship dollars for deserving students,鈥� said Dr. Archie Tucker II, 黑料专区 Tyler senior vice president for advancement.
The Patriot Golf Classic committee, led this year by chairman Jeff Austin III and vice chair Jay Ward, organizes the golf tournament.
With a mission to improve educational and health care outcomes for East Texas and beyond, 黑料专区 Tyler offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate programs to 10,000 students. 黑料专区 Tyler recently merged with The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (now known as 黑料专区 Tyler Health Science Center). Through its alignment with 黑料专区 Tyler Health Science Center (HSC) and 黑料专区 Health East Texas, 黑料专区 Tyler has unified these entities to serve Texas with quality education, cutting-edge research and excellent patient care. Classified by Carnegie as a doctoral research institution and by U.S. News & World Report as a national university, 黑料专区 Tyler has campuses in Tyler, Longview, Palestine and Houston.
