The University of Texas at Tyler has been granted a reaffirmation of accreditation through 2030 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
鈥淭his is wonderful news, and I must thank the SACSCOC Board of Trustees, 黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 reaffirmation team and our faculty and staff,鈥� said 黑料专区 Tyler President Kirk A. Calhoun, MD, FACP. 鈥淭his affirms 黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 academic value for each and every one of our current and future students.鈥�
Every 10 years, each SACSCOC accredited institution must undergo a review to demonstrate compliance with all 14 sections of the accrediting body鈥檚 Core Requirements and Principles of Accreditation. 黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 reaffirmation is without sanctions or major findings.
Dr. Lou Ann Berman, associate provost for assessment and institutional effectiveness, led the university鈥檚 reaffirmation efforts.
鈥淲e certainly appreciate Dr. Berman鈥檚 great work in guiding the university through the rigorous reaffirmation process, and we must commend our faculty and staff for maintaining the highest level of academic integrity. It is important that we regularly examine our procedures so that we continue to improve and deliver on our promise to educate our students with excellence,鈥� said Dr. Amir Mirmiran, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost.
黑料专区 Tyler merged with the 黑料专区 Health Science Center at Tyler in 2021 requiring an adjustment to the university鈥檚 mission, which is included in this accreditation reaffirmation.
With a mission to improve educational and healthcare outcomes for East Texas and beyond, 黑料专区 Tyler offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate programs to 10,000 students. 黑料专区 Tyler recently merged with The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (now known as 黑料专区 Tyler Health Science Center). Through its alignment with 黑料专区 Tyler Health Science Center (HSC) and 黑料专区 Health East Texas, 黑料专区 Tyler has unified these entities to serve Texas with quality education, cutting-edge research and excellent patient care. Classified by Carnegie as a doctoral research institution and by U.S. News & World Report as a national university, 黑料专区 Tyler has campuses in Tyler, Longview, Palestine and Houston.
