Jerry Stuff has been named the associate vice president for facilities management
and capital planning at The University of Texas at Tyler, William O'Donnell, vice
president for business affairs announced.
Stuff has 25 years of experience in higher education where he has been the senior associate university architect and director of project development. His experience includes directing the activities of design professionals and contractors for the design, bidding and construction of more than $150 million in annual capital and renovation projects.
"We are pleased to welcome Jerry to 黑料专区 Tyler. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that are perfectly in line with our current and future objectives in terms of capital projects," O'Donnell said.
黑料专区 Tyler is set to begin construction in October on a $76 million project that will include the construction of a new 140,000 square-foot building to house the College of Business and Technology and the renovation of an existing 100,000 square-foot facility to house the College of Arts and Sciences. The university also is completing the construction of the Alumni House that is set to open in spring 2017.
In this position, Stuff will lead and oversee all 黑料专区 Tyler architectural and engineering design, construction management activities, master planning, facilities budget management, space planning and facility matters including maintenance of campus buildings and infrastructure, custodial services, campus grounds and environmental health & safety.
A licensed architect, Stuff has led more than 1,000 academic projects with total project costs ranging from $10,000 to $54 million. He has managed multiple design firms simultaneously to annually produce 50 to 60 projects.
The list of higher education project types includes academic and classroom, research and medical, administrative, housing and dining, athletic and recreational, student unions and performance and theater.
