Laila Assanie, business economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, will be the featured speaker of The University of Texas at Tyler Hibbs Institute 2015 Economic Forecast Summit, Dr. James Lumpkin, 黑料专区 Tyler College of Business and Technology dean, announced.
The summit will be 11:30 a.m. 鈥 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 at the 黑料专区 Tyler Ornelas Activity Center, 3402 Old Omen Road. Assanie will present 鈥淐urrent Texas Economy and Outlook.鈥

As a member of the Research Department鈥檚 regional group, Assanie conducts research on regional economic issues, produces articles for various bank publications and contributes to the Dallas Fed鈥檚 website. Her other responsibilities include briefing the bank鈥檚 president on regional economic conditions, coordinating the production of various economic updates for the Dallas Fed website and writing the Eleventh District Beige Book 鈥 the bank鈥檚 survey of regional economic conditions.
Assanie holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in economics from Northwestern University and a master鈥檚 degree in economics and finance from the London School of Economics.
