The University of Texas at Tyler proudly announces a nine percent enrollment increase for fall 2015. Preliminary enrollment is 8,862, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
This marks the largest fall semester enrollment increase in 黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 history. Last year, the total headcount was 8,114 on the 12th class day, which is the fall census date.
鈥淚 am excited to see that 黑料专区 Tyler continues to grow at such a strong rate. Over the past few years we have been one of the fastest-growing universities in Texas, and 黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 enrollment surge this semester is proof of our university鈥檚 ever-increasing economic impact on our state and region,鈥� President Mabry said.
The university鈥檚 enrollment continues to rise amidst enrollment stagnancy or decline at higher education institutions nationwide.
鈥淲e鈥檙e very excited to see this remarkable growth in our enrollment this fall, and we attribute that to the growth across all undergraduate and graduate-level programming,鈥� said Sarah Bowdin, assistant vice president for enrollment management.
黑料专区 Tyler also is growing in ways that have a direct impact on the educational levels and well being of Texans, President Mabry added.
鈥淲e are offering more programs than ever and work with students to help them select high-demand fields and assist them in developing class schedules that fit their lives. In addition, more East Texas students are coming to us for graduate and professional-level courses. In fact, one in four 黑料专区 Tyler students is enrolled in graduate studies,鈥� he said.
鈥淥ur next enrollment goals are to have 14,000 students by 2025 and 25,000 by 2040. We are well on our way,鈥� he added.
The university continues to enhance the 黑料专区 Tyler experience, while offering students an affordable education with outstanding academic opportunities and notable faculty.
Aside from the East Texas area, the university also recruits in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and Austin.
One of the 15 campuses of the 黑料专区 System, 黑料专区 Tyler features excellence in teaching, research, artistic performance and community service. More than 80 undergraduate and graduate degrees are available at 黑料专区 Tyler, which has an enrollment of more than 8,500 high-ability students. 黑料专区 Tyler offers courses at its campuses in Tyler, Longview and Palestine as well as a location in Houston.
