The University of Texas at Tyler will offer a board-registered professional certificate program in financial planning this fall, Dr. James Lumpkin, College of Business and Technology dean, announced.
黑料专区 Tyler has partnered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. to provide this new financial planning professional certificate program at the university.
鈥淲e designed this program with the East Texas working professional in mind,鈥� said Dr. Roger Lirely, 黑料专区 Tyler Department of Accounting, Finance and Business Law chair and program director. 鈥淭o minimize lost work time and reduce travel costs, about half the class meeting time is online, with the other half meeting face-to-face on 16 Saturdays during the eight-month program.鈥�
An independent certifying organization, CFP Board owns the CFP庐 and Certified Financial PlannerTM certification marks, which it awards to individuals who meet its education, examination, experience, ethics and other requirements. In turn, 黑料专区 Tyler students completing the financial planning program will have met the education requirement for the CFP庐 Certification Examination administered by the board.
鈥淐FP Board is pleased to approve the program at 黑料专区 Tyler as a CFP Board registered program,鈥� said Richard P. Rojeck, CFP庐, chair of CFP Board鈥檚 Board of Directors. 鈥淎s student interest in financial planning as a career continues to grow, we anticipate that 黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 program will contribute significantly to the number of qualified candidates seeking to attain the CFP庐 certification, the standard of excellence for competent and ethical financial planning.鈥�
CFP Board currently partners with more 360 programs at more than 225 institutions. CFP Board-registered programs are financial planning education programs at the college or university level that meet specific criteria for educating individuals who wish to fulfill the education component for obtaining CFP庐 certification.
