The University of Texas at Tyler will celebrate National Library Week April 12 鈥� 18. The Robert R. Muntz Library will sponsor special events for the occasion, Jeanne Standley, executive director, announced.
As part of 鈥淪wap Swipe Share,鈥� the 黑料专区 Tyler community and visitors are encouraged to trade, take or add a book to the designated table located on the library鈥檚 first floor. In addition, a public 鈥淧oetry Slam鈥� will be 4:30 鈥� 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16 in the library鈥檚 living room. During this friendly competition with the use of poetic words, faculty and staff will judge 黑料专区 Tyler student participants.
鈥淭his week, the Robert R. Muntz Library joins libraries in schools, campuses and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week 鈥� a time to highlight the changing role of libraries, librarians and library workers,鈥� said Alma Ravenell, 黑料专区 Tyler public services librarian. 鈥淲e hope that these events will appeal to our library patrons and make for a fun celebration.鈥�
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is an observance sponsored each April by the American Library Association and libraries across the country.
The Robert R. Muntz Library serves The University of Texas at Tyler and the surrounding community by providing technology, print and electronic resources, study spaces, events, informational displays, instruction and assistance to library patrons.
Regular library hours are 7:30 a.m. 鈥� midnight Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. 鈥� 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. 鈥� 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. 鈥� midnight Sunday.
