The University of Texas at Tyler Longview University Center will host an advising session for students interested in the criminal justice program.
An advising team will be on the 黑料专区 Tyler LUC campus 6 鈥� 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11 to
provide information about the 黑料专区 Tyler bachelor of science in criminal justice degree.
Instructors Dr. David Scott and Michael Ferguson will be available to answer questions
about the program, career options and course offerings available at the 黑料专区 Tyler LUC
campus.
鈥満诹献�区 Tyler is looking forward to bringing these criminal justice classes to the Longview
University Center,鈥� said Dr. Van Patterson, LUC Director. 鈥淲e are also working with
the police academies at Kilgore College and Northeast Texas Community College to create
a pathway for students to earn their bachelor鈥檚 degree in criminal justice.鈥�
A criminal justice major can prepare students for a career in probation, parole, law enforcement or any social service or government agency.
黑料专区 Tyler criminal justice courses offered this fall include CRIJ 3320 Criminological Theory, CRIJ 3322 Probation and Parole, CRIJ 3325 Law and Society and CRIJ 4360 Topics: Sex Offenses.
鈥淣ow that the courses are available, the next step will be to enroll a sufficient number of students to prove there is demand for this kind of program in Longview,鈥� Patterson added.
