Student leaders and organizations at The University of Texas at Tyler were recognized during the 2014 Student Leadership and Service Awards Banquet, Ona Tolliver, assistant vice president and dean of students, announced.

University students, faculty and staff submitted nominees, and a selection committee consisting of faculty and staff chose winners. The 黑料专区 Tyler Department of Student Life and Leadership sponsored the awards reception.

鈥淭his was our eighth time hosting the Student Leadership and Service Awards, and we always look forward to this tradition and encouraging our students to build their legacies in leadership and service,鈥 said Chase Ragland, 黑料专区 Tyler student development specialist who oversees leadership and service programs within the 黑料专区 Tyler Department of Student Life and Leadership.

Among awards presented, Andrea Ortiz of Longview received a 黑料专区 Tyler GiveBack Service Award for outstanding community service. Ortiz documented more than 100 service hours in a single semester.
