The University of Texas at Tyler Alumni Association will recognize three graduates during this year’s Alumni Gala, Brittany Childs, alumni relations director, announced.
An ‘Alumni and Friends’ reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler Ornelas Activity Center. The dinner and program will follow.
The 2014 honorees are Dawn Franks and David L. King, distinguished alumni and Michael Wysocki, distinguished young alumnus.
Dr. Kenneth Hall, senior vice president of university development and strategic initiatives at Baylor University, will serve as keynote speaker. Hall holds a bachelor of science in history from ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler and received a 2013 ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler Distinguished Alumni Award.
Tickets are $50 for general admission, $40 for ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler faculty/staff and $25 for ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler students. Tables of eight are available for $500 (general admission) and $400 (ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler community).

Distinguished alumna Franks earned a bachelor of science and master of science from ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler in 1979 and 1989, respectively. A longtime advocate and friend of the university and ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler Alumni Association, she currently serves as the executive director of the Ben and Maytee Fisch Foundation. Franks also is president of Your Philanthropy, a private consulting firm.
Distinguished alumnus King earned a master of business administration from ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler in 1983. He serves as president of CB&I Engineered Products – a global technology, engineering and construction organization, which as part of the global CB&I organization, has more than 50,000 employees worldwide.
Distinguished young alumnus Wysocki earned a bachelor of science in political science from ºÚÁÏ×¨Çø Tyler in 2003. He is a family law litigator/partner with the McCurley, Orsinger, McCurley, Nelson and Downing LLP Family Law Practice in Dallas.
Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented to alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professional achievements, contributions to society and support of the university.
