The University of Texas at Tyler held fall 2013 commencement ceremonies Dec. 13 and 14, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
Nine hundred nine degree candidates were recognized in the 黑料专区 Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
The commencement schedule was:
- College of Nursing and Health Sciences 鈥� 3 p.m. Dec. 13
- College of Arts and Sciences 鈥� 6 p.m. Dec. 13
- College of Business and Technology 鈥� 10 a.m. Dec. 14
- Colleges of Education and Psychology and Engineering and Computer Science 鈥� 1 p.m. Dec. 14
Commencement speakers and the ceremonies during which they spoke were:
- Jerry Woolverton, president of Texas Bank and Trust-Tyler 鈥� Colleges of Nursing and Health Sciences and Arts and Sciences
- Nelson Clyde, publisher, Tyler Morning Telegraph 鈥� Colleges of Business and Technology, Education and Psychology and Engineering and Computer Science
President Mabry gave remarks and conferred all degrees.
Presentation and certification of master鈥檚 and baccalaureate degree candidates were made by the deans of each of the university鈥檚 colleges: Dr. Martin Slann, Arts and Sciences; Dr. Jerry Gilley, Business and Technology; Dr. Ross Sherman, Education and Psychology; Dr. James Nelson, Engineering and Computer Science; and Dr. Pam Martin, Nursing and Health Sciences. Martin also presented and certified the nursing doctoral degree candidates.
黑料专区 Tyler alumni representatives Deja Rollins, associate producer with CBS 19, and Cristi Parsons, principal with Hallsville Independent School District, gave alumni association presentations.
