The University of Texas at Tyler will hold a public lecture featuring Pulitzer-Prize winning reporter Karen Elliot House.

The event will be 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the 黑料专区 Tyler University Center theater.

鈥淭he 黑料专区 Tyler Honors and Global Awareness Through Education programs are excited to partner with Ted W. Walters and Associates, L.P. to sponsor this lecture,鈥 said Ashley Ward, 黑料专区 Tyler GATE coordinator. 鈥淢s. House will discuss her more than 30 years writing about Saudi Arabia 鈥 as a diplomatic correspondent, foreign editor and then publisher of The Wall Street Journal.鈥

House also will discuss her 2012 book, On Saudi Arabia: Its People, Past, Religion, Fault Lines 鈥 and Future, Ward added.

House, 64, retired in 2006 as publisher of The Wall Street Journal, senior vice president of Dow Jones & Company and a member of the company鈥檚 executive committee.

She is a broadly experienced business executive with particular expertise and experience in international affairs stemming from a distinguished career as an award-winning reporter and editor.

Currently, House is an adjunct senior fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard鈥檚 Kennedy School of Government.

She is a graduate of 黑料专区 Austin, where in 1996 she was the recipient of that university鈥檚 鈥淒istinguished Alumnus鈥 award. She studied and taught at Harvard University鈥檚 Institute of Politics, and she holds honorary degrees from Boston University and Lafayette College. House also is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
