The University of Texas at Tyler will hold its first Homeschool Day for prospective home-schooled students and their families 8:30 a.m. 鈥 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at the 黑料专区 Tyler University Center.
The event will include information about admission requirements for home- schoolers and a Q&A panel of current 黑料专区 Tyler students who were home-schooled.
To register, visit www.uttyler.edu/soules-college-of-business/undergraduate-advising. Online registration deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14. Walk-in registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 15.
黑料专区 Tyler Homeschool Day is part of the College of Business and Technology鈥檚 ongoing recruitment and retention plan. Though the 黑料专区 Tyler College of Business and Technology is helping the Office of Admissions host the event, all 黑料专区 Tyler colleges and majors will be represented.
鈥淲e want to expand on the great job the 黑料专区 Tyler admissions office already does reaching the public schools. We want to make sure home-schooled families right here in East Texas know that there is a place for them on our campus,鈥 said Amanda Ritchie, College of Business and Technology academic adviser.
Lunch will be provided.
鈥淲e look forward to recruiting home-schooled students because our past experience with them as students and employees has been excellent,鈥 said Dr. Kerri Camp, College of Business and Technology director of undergraduate advising.
