Mark Crim, a 1997 graduate from The University of Texas at Tyler, will conduct the Trinity Chamber Orchestra in an upcoming performance, Dr. Michael Thrasher, School of Performing Arts director, announced.

The public concert 鈥Vive la France!鈥 will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Sanctuary of Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 906 Padon Street in Longview. The program features works by French composers Ravel, Poulenc and Bizet.

鈥淲e have assembled an orchestra of very local musicians 鈥 professionals, college and high school faculty members, and even a few students 鈥 really an orchestra of friends to be the 鈥榟ouse band鈥 for Trinity Church,鈥 said Crim, who holds a bachelor of music from 黑料专区 Tyler. 鈥淚 deliberately picked music that is light and atmospheric, a very beautiful and listenable program 鈥 and very French. You will hear Romantic music, Modernist music, Impressionist music and jazz all in one piece 鈥 a real treat.鈥

Vicki Conway, 黑料专区 Tyler senior lecturer in music, will be a featured pianist. Thrasher and Dr. Jeff Emge, 黑料专区 Tyler associate professor of music, are orchestra members.

Crim also serves as director of bands and assistant professor of music at East Texas Baptist University.
