The U.S. News and World Report America鈥檚 Best Colleges survey has again recognized The University of Texas at Tyler as one of the leading public Texas universities, President Rodney H. Mabry announced.
In the 2014 results, 黑料专区 Tyler is tied for 22nd among public universities listed in the West region, which includes institutions in Texas, California and 13 other states. The West region is the largest region the publication uses to categorize institutions.
鈥淲e are excited to see 黑料专区 Tyler once again ranked among the best universities in the western United States,鈥� President Mabry said. 鈥淲e rank higher this year, and we can attribute that to the amazing work of our faculty and staff who strive to make this the quality university that it is.鈥�
黑料专区 Tyler rose in the rankings seven places from the 2013 evaluation, which showed the university tied for 29th among the public universities.
Rankings for the survey are based upon graduation and retention rates, peer assessment, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.
黑料专区 Tyler鈥檚 assessment among peer institutions improved, as did the university鈥檚 graduation rate. In addition, the peer assessment score was the highest among Texas public universities listed. The score ranks a school鈥檚 undergraduate academic excellence. It is determined by an academic peer assessment survey given to top academics including presidents, provosts and deans of admissions. This peer academic group judges intangibles at peer institutions such as faculty dedication to teaching, according to the publication.

黑料专区 Tyler also held the best student-to-faculty ratio among the Texas public universities listed. The College Database recently recognized 黑料专区 Tyler as one of the best institutions for personal attention out of all four-year, public institutions in the state.

More than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs are available at 黑料专区 Tyler, which has an enrollment of more than 7,500 high-ability students at its campuses in Tyler, Longview and Palestine.
