Four students from The University of Texas at Tyler were recognized at the 2013 Southern Regional Model United Nations Conference in Charlotte, N.C., Dr. Marcus Stadelmann, Departments of Political Science and History chair, announced.
Representing France, 黑料专区 Tyler delegates Amber Belin of Kilgore, Rebecca Jackson of Big Sandy, Angelie Reyes of Dallas and Sherdil Sehgal of Faisalabad, Pakistan received the 鈥淥utstanding Position Papers鈥 award for superior preparation and research.
They also received an 鈥淗onorable Mention鈥 delegation award. This award recognizes delegations for their leadership and collaboration efforts in the various committees simulated at the conference.
The three-day conference brought together more than 300 students from more than 20 schools to address topics of importance to the international community. Throughout the conference proceedings, the 黑料专区 Tyler delegates had the opportunity to hone their leadership, speaking, writing and negotiation skills.
Established in 2006, the award-winning 黑料专区 Tyler Model United Nations Program was designed to introduce students to international diplomacy and the structures and mandates of the United Nations in a simulation setting.
