Dr. Mary Fischer, professor of accounting at The University of Texas at Tyler, received a research award from the American Accounting Association, Dr. Harold Doty, College of Business and Technology dean, announced.
The American Accounting Association awarded Fischer 鈥淏est Manuscript of 2013鈥 for her manuscript titled, 鈥淎ccounting Decision Making: Does the Ethics Course Delivery Make a Difference.鈥 Co-authors were Drs. Treba A. Marsh and George L. Hunt.
鈥淒r. Fischer continues to share high quality, recent and relevant accounting research with our students. This is a much-deserved recognition of her contributions to the accounting discipline and her dedication to improving accounting education,鈥 said Dr. Roger Lirely, 黑料专区 Tyler Department of Accounting and Finance chair.
Fischer has taught accounting at 黑料专区 Tyler since 1996 and served in a variety of administrative roles on campus.
She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. Fischer has articles and research widely published in refereed journals including 鈥淩esearch in Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting,鈥 鈥淐ritical Perspectives on Accounting,鈥 鈥淎ccounting Horizons, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy,鈥 鈥淛ournal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management,鈥 鈥淚nternal Auditing鈥 and 鈥淕overnment Accounting Journal.鈥
