The University of Texas at Tyler College of Business and Technology has maintained their accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, Dr. Alisa White, 黑料专区 Tyler provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, announced.
The college achieved accreditation for five additional years through positive peer reviews conducted by a team from AACSB International, the premier international accrediting organization for business and management programs. Accreditation means the business school exceeds high quality and continuous improvement standards for achieving its mission in such areas as curriculum, faculty, intellectual climate, admissions criteria, graduation requirements, library, technological and fiscal resources.
鈥淢aintaining our AACSB accreditation demonstrates the ongoing commitment to high quality education at 黑料专区 Tyler,鈥� said Dr. D. Harold Doty, College of Business and Technology dean. 鈥淎ACSB accreditation is simply the global benchmark for high quality business education 鈥� only about one third of U.S. business schools are AACSB accredited and less than five percent of business schools around the world are AACSB accredited. The decision by the AACSB to extend our accreditation assures our students and community members that the business school at 黑料专区 Tyler is widely recognized as world class.鈥�
The AACSB accreditation team visited the 黑料专区 Tyler campus in January. They complimented the college on the faculty鈥檚 commitment to high quality scholarly expectations. They also saw the strong focus of the business students on effective learning and engagement. These factors, along with the strong support the business school receives from the university, were instrumental in the reaccreditation decision, Doty added.
There are more than 650 AACSB accredited institutions in 50 countries and territories around the world. In addition, there are 178 institutions worldwide who maintain an addition AACSB accounting accreditation.
