The University of Texas at Tyler will offer a study tour to Israel for the spring 2013 semester, Dr. Jill Blondin, Center for Global Education director, announced.

Led by Dr. Martin Slann, College of Arts and Sciences dean, the 鈥満诹献区 Tyler Israel/Palestine Study Tour鈥 may be counted as three undergraduate- or graduate-level semester hours in political science or interdisciplinary elective credit for 黑料专区 Tyler students. Cost is $3,850 and includes round-trip airfare, ground transportation, room and board and most meals.

The class will meet weekly to prepare for the trip. Participants will travel March 7 鈥 17, 2013 to Israel and study Israeli and Palestinian components. While there, they will also visit biblical and historical sites and meet with area dignitaries, scholars and journalists.

鈥淪tudents would register for the class as part of their normal load. They will submit a research project and provide a presentation after returning from the trip. Details relating to the project will be provided and discussed during the first class meeting,鈥 Slann said.

The entire course will be conducted in English, he added.

Slann, a political science professor, holds expertise in Middle Eastern affairs.

Limited scholarship and financial aid funds are available. A valid and current passport is required.
