The University of Texas at Tyler will hold special public events next month in recognition of Archaeology Awareness Month, Dr. Martin Slann, College of Arts and Sciences dean, announced.
Scheduled events are as follows:
- Tuesday, Oct. 2
Dr. Thomas Guderjan, 黑料专区 Tyler assistant professor of anthropology, will give the lecture 鈥淓xploring the Ancient Maya Civilization鈥� at 3 p.m. in the University Center theater.
- Tuesday, Oct. 9
Dr. Wade Meade, 黑料专区 Tyler adjunct lecturer, will give the lecture 鈥淭he Auguratorium of the Palatine: One of Rome鈥檚 Oldest Structures鈥� at 3 p.m. in the UC theater.
Lecture sponsors are the 黑料专区 Tyler Global Awareness through Education and Honors Programs.
- Friday, Oct. 26
Dr. Kent Reilly, professor of anthropology at Texas State University, will present a Texas Archeology Society lecture 鈥淭he Art and Iconography of the Ancient Caddo People of East Texas鈥� at 7 p.m. in the UC theater. This TAS public forum lecture is partially funded by Humanities Texas.
Anthropology study at 黑料专区 Tyler is within the Department of Social Sciences. The department heavily contributes to providing 黑料专区 Tyler students a rich liberal arts education.
