Dr. J. Torey Nalbone, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at The University of Texas at Tyler, is vice chair-elect of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists Board of Directors, Dr. James Nelson, College of Engineering and Computer Science dean, announced.
Nalbone will serve a four-year rotation for ACGIH, a member-based organization that advances occupational and environmental health.
Beginning his career as an industrial hygiene and environmental analytical chemist, he joined ACGIH in 1986 and is the current interim chair of the 黑料专区 Tyler Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction Management.
Nalbone previously served as chair of the ACGIH Agricultural Safety and Health Committee and the Bioaerosols Committee. His other volunteer service includes serving as director and chair of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and treasurer of the Academy of Industrial Hygiene. He has been ABIH-certified since 1993.
Serving 黑料专区 Tyler since 2003, Nalbone holds a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary engineering from Texas A&M University and a master of science in environmental science-engineering from the 黑料专区 Dallas School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Other memberships include American Industrial Hygiene Association, American Society of Civil Engineering, National Fire Protection Association and American Society of Testing Materials.
