The University of Texas at Tyler Meadows Gallery will feature the 2012 International Exhibition beginning Tuesday, Jan. 17, Ray Sikes, gallery coordinator, announced.
A professor of art and artist-in-residence at Baylor University, Karl Umlauf serves as this year鈥檚 juror. He will present a lecture about his selections for the exhibition during a reception, which will be 6 鈥 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 at the gallery.
鈥淔ifty-three pieces of art were chosen out of 360 that were submitted from across the U.S. and four foreign countries for the exhibition,鈥 Sikes said.
The Meadows Gallery is located in the 黑料专区 Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. 鈥 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by special appointment.
The exhibition will continue through Friday, March 9.
Joining Baylor鈥檚 art department faculty in 1989, Umlauf holds a master of fine arts from Cornell University and a bachelor of fine arts from 黑料专区 Austin.
The son of renowned sculptor Charles Umlauf, his own paintings and drawings have received numerous accolades throughout the United States.
He previously served as professor at East Texas State University 鈥 Commerce and as assistant professor at University of Northern Iowa 鈥 Cedar Falls.
